We are a group of math and science tutors from around the Bay Area who share a similar mindset and background when it comes to teaching. We meet once a week for consultation and workshopping, and use each other as resources in order to better serve our students.
We believe that students learn best in an environment which is comfortable and safe for them, and we strive to create such an environment in our work by highlighting the beauty we see in math and science. We recognize that each student has a unique learning style, and make sure we teach in a way which allows them to grow. |
Brian BrionesHey! I have a B.A. in English from UC Berkeley. I started tutoring during my Freshman year of high school. I had just transferred from a school I wasn’t happy with, and tutoring was my way of making friends and meaningful connections with students my grade and above early on. I’ve worked mostly with high school students, as I was hired as a TA for my high school soon after graduating from high school, but I also get along well with elementary school children and adults. That being said, I specialize with high school students particularly in Algebra I-II, Geometry, Pre-calculus, Calculus, and English writing/literature. I can also teach general test-taking skills as well as SAT/ACT prep, if that’s something you’re looking for!

Juliana HartleyHello! My name is Juliana, and I am a first year premed student at UC Berkeley intending to major in Integrative Biology. My passion for tutoring began seven years ago while helping my brother understand his math homework. After working with my brother, I realized that every student has their own learning style. In an effort to help others unveil their passion for learning, I began tutoring and crafting unique lesson plans to help many students understand various math concepts. My goal is to provide a safe space where my students will grow academically and mentally!

Jennifer LuoHiya! I am a fifth year student at UC Berkeley majoring in Psychology, with an Associate degree in Biology. Ever since middle school, I've enjoyed tutoring both classmates and younger students (including my little sister). Vanessa UlrichMy name is Vanessa Ulrich and I am currently a third year at Berkeley, studying math, art, and education. I have been teaching since I was a sophomore in High School, in after school programs and in my own privet tutoring business. Since I was very young I have ALWAYS seen myself teaching! I have built some of the most amazing relationships with teachers I have had and I am excited to do the same with my students. My teaching style is very hands on and visual, I believe seeing and interacting with math/science in the real world will help students grasp concepts with a deeper and more mean full understanding. I am comfortable teaching any age and most all subjects from k-12 grade! Teaching is my passion and I am so excited to possibly share it with you.
